Wood Fired Earth Oven Building Workhop

If you are interested in learning about natural building or ever wanted to build your own wood fired pizza oven, come and join the fun with this hands on workshop. Will and Kenny from Integrated Biotecture are creating a beautiful outdoor gathering space at Holgate Public School to help educate the kids in the wonders of natural building and permaculture.

AIMS:

• To build a wood fired cob (earth) pizza oven for students and staff at Holgate Public School
• To give participants the skills and knowledge to build their own earth ovens
• To promote the use of natural materials and sustainable building techniques

TOPICS COVERED

• Insulating and laying the oven floor
• Building the sand mold
• Constructing a thermal layer
• Constructing the insulation layer
• Earthen render
